Tasting Notes: Fresh Herb Garden

Aromas of a fresh herb garden leap from the glass with a full and juicy palate. There are plenty of red berry flavours and a soft spiced finish.

Background Information: The 2004 vintage in South Australia was fantastic. There is talk that generally the quality of fruit coming off the vines was as good as the much heralded 1998.

Particularly in the Coonawarra region, there has been talk that the 2004 Coonawarra vintage has produced its best wines since the brilliance of the years of ’99, ’98, ’96, ’91 and ’90.

These wines were sourced from a very big player, in the Coonawarra region. It is one of the largest contract winegrowers and suppliers in Coonawarra, selling more than half its grape production to others, and still producing 100,000 cases under their own labels.

The winery take Coonawarra Cabernet very seriously, releasing five ‘cuvees’ starting at $17 retail through to their flagship, at $80.
