Tasting Notes: There’s loads of coffee, chocolate and spice. It is a youthful 2006 and I recommend giving it a bit of air as it did look much better the second day open.
Background Information: Under $10 Adelaide Hills wines are scarce due to the fact most of the wineries are boutique and the cost of producing wine pushes most of them up over the $15 mark.
This wine is an exception to the rule. It’s deeply coloured and full bodied. The warmth of the alcohol is noticeable, however on closer inspection of the bottle it claims the alcohol is 15.9%. This is surprising as it rich and bold, but definitely not at all porty.
