Tasting Notes: Dark Chocolate & Plum
It exhibits a delicate fruit complexity with aromas of mint, eucalyptus and cedar wood. The palate has generous flavours of black cherries, dark chocolate and plum with subtle oak tannins and balanced natural acidity.
Background Information: This Cabernet is bold and generously packed, but there’s less sweet fruit compared to its sister, the Raging Bull McLaren Vale Shiraz. Hey at the end of the day it is McLaren Vale so there’s gonna be plenty of fruit, but it is subdued and may I say a touch shy.
Cabernet is not the first grape variety you think of when talking about McLaren Vale but keep in mind it was a Cabernet from this region that scooped the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy a couple of years ago.
