The nose is softly tropical showing peach and nectarine aromas and the palate is quite delicate. There is upfront apple and pear with a vibrant sherbet and peach finish.
Background Information: This wine has been accessed through a joint venture with a large Victorian winery. Due to the drought and subsequent grape price hikes many wineries are looking off shore for Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. They are looking at not only South Africa but Chile and Argentina also.
This Sauvignon Blanc was produced from vineyards located in the Paarl region of South Africa. This is one of the world’s most outstanding regions. It lies to the north of Stellenbosch, and is bordered by the town of Wellington to the north east, and the mountains of the Groot and Klein Drakenstein and Franschhoek ranges to the south east.
The grapes were harvested in the early morning to retain varietal freshness and the crisp Sauvignon Blanc characters. Minimal intervention during the wine making process has meant maximum retention of the grape’s delightful crisp and easy drinking character.
