Tasting Notes: Apricot & Nectarine
Delicate floral aromas waft from the glass, with a hint of granny smith apple, lovely fruit on the palate, with a soft, creamy texture. Apricot and nectarine flavours are noticeable along with a citrus, lime finish.
Background Information: Friends of ours, in the Pyrenees have supplied us with this wine, for the seventh time now. Other than a hiccup in 2007 we’ve been able to access their 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 & now 2010 estate grown Sauvignon Blanc.
Their style is completely different to the softly sweaty and pungent Savvy’s made by our friends from across the Tasman. It has always been upfront with tropical fruits and this 2009 is no exception. This release has an extra depth of flavour due to 6 months of yeast stirring in the tank, before bottling.
