Tasting Notes: It opens with aromas of a European deli with all those smoked meats and cured ham. The palate follows along in the same sort of direction with its savoury characteristics. It’s got a hint of leather with cinnamon and vanilla flavours and blackberry fruit lingering in the background.
Background Information: This is made at Heathcote Winery and is a completely different style to the other Aussie Tempranillo we stock, being the 2009Kentish Lane. It is more savoury and closer to the traditional European style.
It is definitely a food wine and would go really well with a platter of Spanish ham and crusty bread as well as a chicken liver fry up.
