Tasting Notes: Intense Lemons
An intense smell of lemon, backed by white peach and apricot. The palate starts off tropical and fruit driven then dries out to give a long, clean finish.
Background Information: This is made by Ant Moore, who is well known Aussie winemaker, in NZ. He makes it from fruit off three of his own vineyards in Marlborough. The wine is vinified in numerous small batches and aged on lees for six months to soften the palate and build weight and viscosity. The final blend incorporates a dash of sweeter wine and 5% of fermented Chardonnay which had been aged in new Frenck oak to add balance.
