Tasting Notes: Strawberry & cherry
This wine is elegant and shows spice and lifted strawberry / cherry flavours with forest floor aromas. It has ample fruit with a dry, savoury edge.
Background Information: $10 Pinot Noir’s don’t grow on trees, and especially ones from cool climate Victorian regions. This is unless you shop with 6J’s.
This wine was made for a NSW wine agency. Due to tough times the agency are reluctant to take their full quota for this vintage. Their wholesale price to the trade in NSW will be $129 + GST a case. Now that works out to be $11.80 a bottle. Don’t forget that’s wholesale, that’s not retail. In Sydney, where margins are normally higher than Melbourne the shelf price probably would be around the $16 - $18 mark.
The wine was made from fruit sourced from three small vineyards in the Geelong region. The winemaker worked with small batch ferments and quality French oak.
All prices are in Australian Dollars and inclusive of GST
