Variety: Pinot Noir

Region: Geelong

Tasting Notes: Lifted dark cherries
The nose is very floral showing lavender and roses. In the mouth it has lifted dark cherry flavours a middle palate spice hit and an autumnal / earthy finish.

Background Information: $10 Pinot Noir’s don’t grow on trees, and especially ones from cool climate Victorian regions.
Last year we picked up a parcel of Pinot from a Geelong producer that was excess to requirements as their NSW agent did not take their quota. It was a god send for us as it sold very well, so this vintage we requested some to be put aside for us straight away.
It is made from fruit sourced from three small vineyards in the Geelong region. The winemaker worked with small batch ferments and quality French oak. The winemaker has used only a small percentage of sulphur dioxide in making this wine. For those who suffer from over use of sulphur in wine this wine could be for you. It has similar amounts used as an organic red without the hefty price tag.
