Tasting Notes: Citrus & Cinnamon
Delicate floral and citrus aromas lead to a minerally, dry palate. There is more citrus along with cinnamon flavours and a smidge of creamed honey.
Background Information: This wine was recently reviewed by UK wine man Matthew Dukes. If you have not heard of him, read up. He has over 9 million Daily Mail readers a week, the most keenly followed wine column in the UK. He is the author of thirteen wine books and was voted the most influential wine writer in the UK and has won the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition’s Trophy for Wine Communicators of the Year.
Anyway, he is very influential overseas and obviously knows his stuff. Here is what he wrote..
"A new name to me, Cunning Fox Chardonnay is the perfect party wine because it doesn’t pack too much oak into the flavour, leaving the mild-mannered citrus fruit to do its job unencumbered. Light enough to perform starters duties, but with enough gravitas to step up to a smart main course fish dish, this is a clever piece of work from the Cunning Fox".
