Variety: Sauvignon Blanc

Region: Marlborough

Tasting Notes: This wine shows the vibrant tropical fruit aromas of ripe Sauvignon Blanc. The full bodied palate is long, exhibiting intense passionfruit flavours, which linger through to the crisp finish.

Background Information: We’ve been banging on about this wine for the past 6 months now and as of last week our choice of Sauv Blanc was justified. This classy Sauvignon Blanc received the following trophies at the prestigious International Wine Challenge in London.
TROPHY – Best New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc
TROPHY – Best New Zealand White Wine
TROPHY – Best International Sauvignon Blanc

This means that not only was it awarded the best Savvy from New Zealand it was judged the best Kiwi white of the show and best Savvy of the show. This year’s competition received over 9,500 entries from a record 41 countries, with over 300 judges sampling.

The Clifford Bay is no stranger to success having been awarded a god medal or 5 stars for every Sauvignon Blanc since it’s first in 1997.

Ok it’s cold outside, but surely there’s a spot or two in the rack for a triple trophy winning Sauv Blanc at such a great price?
